Biography

Mr. Aidan received his B.Sc. and M.S. in chemical engineering from Higher Institute of Chemical Technology, Burgas, Bulgaria in 1984 and 1987, respectively. From 1987-1992, he worked as a research engineer in the Energy Research Center and the Scientific Congress, Baghdad, Iraq. From 1992-1999, he worked as a lab instructor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq. He joined the American University of Sharjah in September 1999 as a lab instructor in the School of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering. His responsibilities include supervising a variety of labs such as chemical engineering measurements, chemical engineering I & II, materials science, simulation, process dynamics and control, introduction to engineering, corrosion and wastewater projects. He has developed many new experiments and installed major equipment for chemical engineering laboratories. Mr. Aidan has also developed sets of handouts for many experiments in the unit operations, measurements, water treatment, and process control labs. His research interests are in process control, simulation, wastewater, and corrosion.
