Biography
Dr. Fathia Saleh Mohammed received her doctorate in 1974 from the University of Wales,
University College of Swansea, UK. She joined the AUS Department of Chemical Engineering in June 2006, prior to joining AUS, she held several positions in Iraq for more than 30 years. At the Ministry of Oil, she was involved in designing in the chemical engineering design office in the state organization for oil projects (SCOP); project planning, evaluation and project management; troubleshooting in the oil industry and others industries including petrochemical industry in Basrah; and worked as chief engineer in the engineering inspection department, where her main field of work, was the selection of materials witnessing the hydrostatic testing. She has also been a lecturer at the University of Baghdad and the University of Technology-Chemical Engineering Department. Addionally, she has been a scientific researcher with the Council of Scientific Research.
Dr. Fathia represented Iraq in the International Corrosion Council for many years, presenting papers at many international conferences. She participated in the process of bridging the universities with work fields. She contributes to more than 15 continuing education programs in different fields of chemical engineering, corrosion engineering, inspection and selection of materials.
