Biography

Gasser Auda has a multidisciplinary background that includes systems engineering, computer engineering and computer science. He received his Ph.D. in Systems Analysis and Design from University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1996. He has published a number of papers on systems theory, neural networks and intelligent systems. He administrated research projects funded by the Canadian Centre for Research in Earth and Space Technology (CRESTech), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Communications and Information Technology Ontario (CITO), and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He is a fellow of the International Institute of Advanced Systems Research and a referee for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Strategic Grants, the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Federal Infrastructure University Grants, the Journal of Computing and Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, and IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics. He is also interested in the philosophy of law and ethics as they apply to information technology.
