Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering (ELE) at AUS. We hope you have an informative visit to our website.

Electrical engineering is a dynamic and exciting field that provides excellent career opportunities in all sectors of society. The advancements in electrical engineering are considered some of the main factors in reshaping our modern society in all aspects including health, business, education and entertainment. Electrical engineers design and implement a wide range of systems such as telecommunication networks, medical equipment, power distribution, electric machines and modern industrial control.

The ELE department at AUS offers a 140-credit-hour Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (USA) as well as the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The curriculum is structured to provide an optimal balance between fundamental theory and hands-on laboratory practice. Modern laboratories with state-of-the art equipment are maintained to support teaching and research activities. The use of computing tools for the design, synthesis and analysis of systems is integrated in most ELE courses.

Our students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they progress through the program. They also gain practical experience by working for national and international organizations during the summer internship program. AUS ELE graduates have been recognized as highly qualified and well prepared by many employers. Many of our graduates have completed or are pursuing their master’s and doctoral degrees (PhD) at renowned universities in North America and Europe .

One of the main objectives of the ELE department at AUS is to be recognized as the leading ELE department in the region. Our distinguished faculty members play a major role in achieving this goal. They are dedicated educators who provide guidance and act as role models for our students; active researchers with their work published in leading international journals and conferences; and committed professionals who participate in many activities within the community. ELE faculty members are involved in very exciting and diverse areas of research that include signal processing, communications, medical electronics, industrial instrumentation, control, microwaves and nondestructive testing, power electronics and machines, and power systems.
