Master of Science
in Engineering Systems Management
The Engineering Systems Management (ESM) graduate program provides the technical and managerial skills for engineers of all disciplines to manage people, processes, and projects in an effective and efficient manner. Accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the ESM program is designed based on quality standards similar to those followed by similar programs in the United States. The program is launched in 2002 as the first such program in the region and has become one of the most popular graduate programs at the American University of Sharjah. The demand for the program continues to be high with an average of 25 students enrolled every year.
It is our experience that most engineers initially work for several years in the technical areas. They move quite rapidly into positions of responsibility and decision making. This is especially true for most engineers in the United Arab Emirates. Statistics show that more than 75 percent of all engineers assume management responsibility within the first five years of professional practice. Regardless of their engineering background, all engineers should be equipped with a wide variety of engineering management skills that will help them in making and implementing operational and strategic decisions. ESM program is the right choice for engineers wishing to have strong education in managing and integrating people, capital, technology, and information to satisfy customers’ needs with the least cost products or services.
To learn more about our program, please contact the AUS Office of Admissions or the ESM Program Coordinator. We look forward to discussing your academic future at AUS.
