Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME)

The MSME program will prepare professionals in an environment that combines mechanical engineering practice and technical research to contribute to the growing body of mechanical engineering knowledge, research and development both regionally and internationally.
Program Educational Objectives
MSME graduates are expected to be able to achieve the following objectives:
- Utilize advanced mathematics and engineering sciences to identify, formulate and solve mechanical engineering problems.
- Acquire the technical depth, the professional breadth, and the research and development skills needed for higher studies and/or for industry.
- Demonstrate the desire for innovation, creativity, use and integration of multiple technologies, and lifelong learning.
- Work and communicate effectively in a professional environment.
- Recognize and adhere to the professional and ethical responsibilities of the engineering profession.
Program Educational Outcomes
Upon graduation, an AUS MSME graduate should demonstrate the ability to achieve the following outcomes:
- Apply advanced mathematics and engineering science in identifying, formulating, and solving engineering problems.
- Use modern engineering tools.
- Demonstrate proficiency in planning, designing, and conducting experimental studies and research.
- Write a research thesis and defend research results.
- Attend to professional and ethical responsibilities and understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, environmental, and societal context.
- Recognize the need for and engage in lifelong learning and knowledge of contemporary issues.
