Mission

The Office of Institutional Research at American University of Sharjah operates within the Office of the Chancellor and aims at assisting the university community in achieving objectives and goals by providing the necessary support in the form of timely, systematic, useful, accurate, and user friendly information and reports.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the AUS Office of Institutional Research are many. They include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Conducting ad hoc reports and studies as required by the Chancellor or any of the vice chancellors at American University of Sharjah.
    • Supporting the AUS Board of Trustees by providing various reports and studies regarding various areas of interest within AUS.
    • Participating in the strategic planning process at American University of Sharjah.
    • Providing various AUS departments, as well as non-AUS entities, with vital information regarding AUS while maintaining a confidentially-responsible behavior.
    • Engaging in key predictive practices for issues relating to enrollment, class sizes, faculty numbers and attrition, among others.
    • Assisting individual departments in assessing and evaluating their academic programs within the context of American University of Sharjah’s institutional effectiveness plan.
