Medina Forum lecture series underway

The Institute of Urban and Regional Planning and Design (IURPD) at the School of Architecture and Design recently held a lecture entitled “A Rhapsody in Green, Music into the Spirit of Place,” by Dr. Wael Samhouri, Chair and Founder of the Department of Architecture at Al-Kalamoon University in Syria.
The lecture was held as part of IURPDʼs Medina Forum lecture

series. The forum recently also organized two other lectures, entitled “The Human Dimension in City Planning,” by Jan Gehl of Gehl Architects in Denmark, and “Urban Sampling” by Deane Simpson of ETH Switzerland (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich).

The forumʼs mandate is to invite leading practitioners and academicians to speak on issues of urgency, interest and relevance to the community of UAE urban planning and architecture educators, practitioners, and students and to facilitate on going interaction and collaboration among academia, government and industry
