Confidentiality

Counseling through the Learning and Counseling Center is strictly confidential. The information that is shared with a counselor will not be disclosed to another individual or organization without the written consent of the student. Any records maintained by the LCC are not part of the student’s academic or administrative records and thus are not available to anyone other than the counselor. The only exceptions to this strict policy of confidentiality are situations in which the client is at risk of taking his or her own life if protective measures are not taken, or the client presents a serious danger of violence to another person.
