Officers
The American University of Sharjah Alumni Association officers work with an alumni council in order to provide support for alumni activities at the regional and national levels. All alumni are eligible to be nominated as officer candidates, to submit nominations and to vote for officers who are elected to two-year terms.

Chapters
To stay close to our graduates, the AUS Alumni Association is establishing worldwide chapters that facilitate operations for those residing in various countries, namely:
CANADA
Amer Shaban '03
Amer Shaban graduated from AUS in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. After AUS, he moved to Montreal, Canada to pursue his master’s degree in computer science at Concordia University. Amer has had the pleasure of staying in touch with fellow alums all over the world and bond with the alums in Montreal. Amer is currently working as a software developer in an e-business solution company called Nakisa located in downtown Montreal. Amer will work to keep alums informed about alumni news, activities and social events. He is happy to help any alums or students who want to know more about Canada in general or Montreal in specific.
KUWAIT
Kinan Issa ‘06
Kinan Issa, a Fall 2005 graduate in computer science, is a Syrian born in Kuwait, where he spent most of his childhood and teen years. In 1998, he moved to Syria where he finished his high school education in the science area. He started AUS in 2001 as a computer science major. Kinan was an active member of the AUS community and a key contributor to the Office of Student Activities. Kinan served as an executive assistant for the Syrian Cultural Club (SCC) for almost three years; concurrently, he served as the executive assistant for the newly founded activities subcommittee of the Student Council. Kinan helped prepare, organize, supervise and participate in many major campus events including directing numerous Global Day activities for the SCC.
