The CAAD Material Fabrication Labs encompass laboratories with a wide range of conventional fabrication equipment; including a Woodshop, Metalshop, Ceramics Studio, Casting Areas and a Finishing Lab.
CAAD Labs’ woodshop is a 350 sqm woodworking facility that is divided into three areas: as assembly space, a main space with heavy equipment, a secondary space with smaller woodworking equipment and sanding machines. The lab houses a sawstop table saw, two large bandsaws, turning machines, planer, jointer, vacuum frame press, four small bandsaws, two drill presses and miscellanous sanding equipment.
The Metal Shop is dedicated to process metals in solid stock and sheet form. The lab houses TIG and MIG welding equipment, along with a plasma torch, spot welder, wheel grinder, sand blaster, horizontal bandsaw, drill presses, circular cold saw, conventional lathe, as well as a HAAS CNC vertical milling center. For sheet metal processing there are a number of machines available for use, including a magnetic brake, shear, bead roller, rolling machine, English wheel and a stretcher shrinker.
