Sheehan Fernandes – B.Sc. ELE, 2016

Since high school, electrical systems have always fascinated me. I used to disassemble electrical appliances at my home, just to see the working and design. I have always been eager to know how electrical engineering forms the fundamental basis for development in modern technology. Power systems and circuit design are the fields that capture my interest the most.  A major part of learning takes place in labs and research work. The labs here at AUS are well-equipped, and have enabled me to be a part of several projects, working alongside other students and professors. In my time here at AUS, I have learnt how to think critically when faced with problems concerning my projects. I believe that all this knowledge has helped me succeed as an engineer.

“Graduating as an electrical engineer from AUS has made my life goals clearer as it helped identify which research field and work interested me the most. It has helped me develop my practical skills, enabled me to come up with more innovative designs and develop solutions to a variety of problems. Studying at AUS has given me the chance to meet people from different parts of the world, due to its multicultural and diverse environment. This has given me a global experience and enhanced my learning environment overall.
