Visiting Faculty Position | Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering (CVE) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for full-time visiting faculty positions at all ranks commencing in Fall Semester 2020. The applicants are required to have a BS and PhD degrees in an applicable area of civil engineering or related field, and show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio that includes breadth of courses taught and relevant experience, preferably at a North American university. The regular teaching load for a visiting faculty position is three courses per semester. The greatest teaching needs at present are in construction management, transportation, structures, geotechnical and water resources. Candidates with ability to teach in multiple areas of civil engineering and across engineering majors are especially encouraged to apply.
Currently, the department has 367 undergraduate students, 42 graduate students, 20 full-time faculty, 3 lab instructors and an administrative assistant. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Civil Engineering. The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://www.abet.org).
