Visiting Faculty Position in Anthropology

The Department of International Studies at American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates seeks to hire a one-year visiting faculty member in cultural or social anthropology.  Candidates must be able to teach introductory courses as well as upper-level undergraduate courses in their field. An ability to teach courses on globalization and geography is a plus.

Successful candidates will have a PhD in anthropology, a record of excellent teaching, an active research agenda, and be willing to move to the UAE in August 2021. All department members are expected to contribute to a range of faculty and student-oriented service activities in what is a vibrant interdisciplinary department.  

As a university formed on the American model and with English as the language of instruction, American University of Sharjah will give priority to candidates who have substantial experience in American models of higher education.
