Hend ElGhazaly
Hend ElGhazaly received her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom with Distinction and First classifications. She worked on developing the first Arabic talking head for dementia diagnosis as part of her Master’s project. She also worked on detecting memory loss from brain signals while being a Research Assistant in the University of Sheffield. She presented her research projects at various international conferences such as the Young Female Re-searchers in Speech Science & Technology in India and was awarded the second Best MSc Prize at the BCS Women Lovelace Colloquium in England. Furthermore, she served as a student ambassador in the University of Sheffield, encouraging prospective students to study computer science. In 2014, Hend was awarded HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum “Outstanding Cambridge Learner” award for achieving First place in the United Arab Emirates in Cambridge International A-Level Applied ICT. Her teaching areas and research interests include software development, internet of things, artificial intelligence and computer security.
