Provost's Message

Welcome to the Office of the Provost webpage.

The Provost is responsible for all aspects of academic life at AUS and supports efforts to ensure that the university continues to play a transformative role in the lives of students seeking an American model of higher education that is grounded in the culture of the Gulf region.

AUS is a unique institution that is defined by its diversity and distinguished by the commitment of its students, alumni, staff and faculty. Each of these groups contributes to fulfilling the vision to be the region's leader in higher education, known for excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, research and service.

Since AUS was founded in 1997, tremendous progress has resulted in enhancing the university's reputation in the region and beyond. Recognition by accreditation bodies attests to the rigor of academic programs, and the breadth of courses offered represents a commitment to intellectual discovery and critical reflection, an appreciation of the various modes of human inquiry, and acknowledgement of the importance of fostering development of the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in and contribute to the region and the world at large.

The core of an AUS education is the General Education Program, which offers students opportunities to reflect on a diverse and increasingly interdependent world and their place within it. The academic experience is complemented by co-curricular opportunities such as professional internships and study abroad.

Faculty members at AUS are engaged in a broad range of scholarly and creative activity that contributes to advancing knowledge and enhancing teaching. For more information of the work of faculty, please visit the profiles available on departmental webpages.

If you are a prospective student, then I encourage you to visit the campus to learn more about the university. Information of the application process can be found on the Admissions section.
