Faculty positions for College of Arts and Sciences

Visiting Faculty Position in Sociology

The Department of International Studies at the American University of Sharjah has an urgent need for a one-year visiting faculty appointment, rank open, in sociology for the academic year 2016-2017.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in sociology. The teaching load is 2 sections of Introduction to Sociology and 1 upper-level sociology course per semester. Ability to teach Environmental Sociology is a plus.

Adjunct Positions in Arabic Studies

The Department of Arabic and Translation Studies in the American University of Sharjah invites applications for  part time adjunct positions in Arabic Studies beginning in the Fall 2016.The successful candidates will have Ph.D. or MA in Arabic studies (Arabic Language, literary/cultural studies, or Islamic Studies) Candidates are expected to be able to teach in English. Candidates with MA must have at least 5 years teaching experience in a relevant field.
