AUS Business Forum and Career Fair (March 2012)
ODAA organizes the AUS Business Forum under the patronage and with the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS). The annual Forum offers a unique platform to voice and implement ODAA goals. Prominent business leaders with state-of-the-art expertise assess, from their daily experiences in running a major corporations, the strengths and applicability of conceptual principles from higher education. These executives that perform for our students, alumni and faculty the role of "professors" or "mentors" from the University of Life in assessing current situations being confronted by business and industry in the Gulf. This becomes a laboratory showcasing how economics solves vexing problems. Students and recent graduates meet with employers, executive officers, senior business figures and guests to address development and growth in the region. The Forum, therefore, bridges the concepts of academia with the applications of business and demonstrates the advantages and advances from their natural partnership.
The Career Fair is where seniors and alumni meet with representatives from the private and public sectors. Career Fair Sponsors generate around one million dirhams, which is used for alumni graduate scholarships.
