AUS Sustainability is launching our COP28 speaker series. Our first speaker, in conjunction with Dr. Fatin Samara's course ENV 356: Climate Change, is Muwaffaq Al Khedery, Climate Change Advisor, GHD, who will discuss the work he has been doing on carbon emissions modeling.
About the speaker
Muwaffaq Al Khedery, Climate Change Advisor, GHD, Abu Dhabi, is a scientifically geared climate change advisor with direct experience in climate science, GHG inventory compilation and modeling. He has a Master of Science in Environmental Modelling and a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Science. His main responsibilities are in line with advancing government and company positions relative to combat climate change while maintaining an exceptionally adaptable and diverse skill set in all facets of climate change, ranging from climate science to policy and negotiations. Prior to joining GHD, he was a climate change analyst at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in the UAE. As the modelling team lead, he and his team developed the emissions model for the UAE’s second Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and co-authored the UAE State of Climate Report.
