Civil Engineering-SEWA Feeder Pillar Design Competition Awards Ceremony

The AUS Department of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), held its first Feeder Pillar Design Competition. This winners will be announced during this awards ceremony.

Twenty-eight students participated in the month-long design competition, which was aimed at developing a new and innovative design for the 6-way feeder pillar. A feeder pillar is a cabinet used to house electrical equipment. Feeder pillars act as a central circuit that controls and distributes electricity to outgoing circuits downstream to the end users (houses, businesses, etc.). This setup provides each circuit protection and the capacity to be easily controlled.
