Concert: Salateen Al Tarab (December 2012)

The AUS Cultural Events Committee, in collaboration with the AUS Student Council, presents Salateen Al Tarab of Syria. The evening's performance will include music in a variety of styles, including mouwashahat, kodood halabeya, and tarab from legendary singers Oum Kulthum and Abdel Wahab. The event will also feature Sufi singing and whirling daraweesh.
The Syrian band comprises six musicians, singer Ahmed Badoor and two mawlaweyah dancers. The band features the famous oud player Amer Amouri (view his performance).
