Energy Efficiency as a Transdisciplinary Concept: Research and Applications (October 2021)
This presentation shares the extensive research and development studies carried out at the Centre for Energy, Environment and Economy (CEEE) relating to buildings and industry. It highlights the importance of integrated engineering and architecture solutions, the development of new materials and interfaces, as well as the integration of renewable energy sources for new and the renovated buildings. This presentation is targeted at members of the academic community with interest in renewable energy resources and sustainable engineering solutions with integrated human behavior.
About the Speaker
Professor M. Pinar Mengüç holds a BS and MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from ODTU/METU, Turkey, and a PhD from Purdue University, USA. He was the founding Head of Mechanical Engineering and the current Director for the Centre for Energy, Environment and Economy (CEEE) at Özyeğin University, Istanbul. His research areas include radiative transfer, nano-scale transport phenomena, applied optics and sustainable energy applications. Dr. Mengüç is the recipient of several honors, including the 2018 ASME Heat Transfer Memorial Award and the 2020 Purdue Outstanding Mechanical Engineering Award, for his lifetime achievements.
