Equivalence Problems in Several Complex Variables
Department of Mathematics and Statistics Seminar Series
Dr. Jaecheon Joo, Department of Mathematics, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia
Although it is usually believed that the field of Several Complex Variables began in the 1930s after Hartogs' observation that any holomorphic function of several variables cannot have isolated singularities, Poincare observed earlier that the equivalence problem for higher dimensional complex domains is not as simple as the one-dimensional Riemann mapping theorem. In this talk, the presenter will introduce a brief history of Several Complex Variables in view of the complex equivalence problem and some of his related results on CR structures and foliation structures.
