First Principles Simulations on the Structural, Magnetic, Electronic and Molecular Dynamics Properties of Materials
Dr. Assa Aravindh will be presenting a talk about theoretical work on electronic and magnetic properties of materials.
Speaker: Dr. Assa Aravindh S, obtained a PhD in Physics with specialization in condensed matter theory from the University of Madras, under the scholarship program of Department of Atomic Energy, India. During her post-doctoral tenure at KAUST, Saudi Arabia, she has been involved in various projects both as an independent researcher and also collaborated with experimental groups, providing a theoretical explanation to their results. Her research interests are focused on first principles based simulations on the structural, magnetic and electronic properties of dilute magnetic semiconductors, rare earth nitrides, 2D chalcogenides and molecular dynamics studies of hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskites for photovoltaic applications. She has published more than 15 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, two book chapters, and attended more than 10 international conferences/workshops.
