Lecture by Joshua M. Taron
Joshua M. Taron is Assistant Professor of architecture at the University of Calgary's Faculty of Environmental Design and Principal of Synthetiques, an internationally recognized research//design//build studio founded in 2006 that focuses on hybrid ecologies afforded through the interface of virtual and physical economies across multiple scales. Taron co-directs the Laboratory for Integrative Design (LID) at the University of Calgary; a research outfit that explores integrative trajectories and areas of overlap that have emerged through computation between design, its allied disciplines of engineering and construction, and other fields, such as computer science, material science, mathematics and biology. He recently co-chaired the ACADIA 2011 Annual Conference, Integration through Computation, held in Banff, AB. His research has been published and exhibited internationally.
