Spanish Contemporary Architecture 2008–2013: Three Invariable Qualities
A lecture by Jorge García de la Camara, Director, IE Master in Architectural Design, Madrid-Barcelona
When architecture is the result of an intellectual commitment to its time and to the accumulation of technical knowledge, the architect becomes more sensible than the codes that make him sensible, more demanding than the client who places his trust in him, more enlightened than the method that enlightens him, and more genuinely critical than the critic who praises him.
The lecture "Spanish Contemporary Architecture 2008-2013: Three Invariable Qualities" will be focused on the recent Spanish architectural production under the light of an accurate use of technique: technique for the implantation of the project in the location, technique in the employment of the prevailing technology that is most suitable for each situation, and technique for the telling use and maximum exploitation of the material.
