Subject Matter(s) (May 2014)
You are cordially invited to visit the exhibition Subject Matter(s), a group exhibition of drawings and paintings by students from American University of Sharjah.
Subject matter is the literal, visible subject of the artwork. The subject of the artwork may be still life (objects), portrait (the body) or landscape/interior (place). What matters about the drawings and paintings in this exhibit is the students' attempt to recognize and represent the connotative, symbolic and suggestive aspects of the subject.The participating artists are: Alia Hesham Hantash, Dina Tawil, Mera Abdelaziz, Bushra Ashraf, Hinjal Kumar, Deepali Dang, Bhoomika Ashvinkumar, Kanjibhai Ghaghada, Narges Rowshanzamir, Khalid Khairi Al-Tamimi, Hind Hashim, Dina Essam Abulfaraj, Zarrin Tasnim Khan, Hawra A. Almashhadi, Hanin Elghol, Farah Alkhoury, Shirin Taherian, Mohamad Hachem, Shaima Binti Jaber, Meera Almazrooei, Intisar Obaid, Sana Abdulmajeed, Adnan Faraz, Muhammad Khan, Mariam Al Sarkal, Dareen Abdallah, Maryana Al Wedai, Diana Nwilati Masri, Mohammed Al Haddad, Farah Jdid Mahmoud and Rahaf Mahmoud.
Since its establishment in 1998 in the UAE, Hunar Gallery has played a prominent role in promoting Emirati, Gulfand Arab artists. Student exhibitions reflect Hunar's commitment to promote distinguished emergent student artists.
The Hunar Gallery is located in Rashidiya, Green Coast Village, Villa No 6, St No 49a, opposite Dubai Airport Expo. Gallery timings are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday to Thursday.
