Presented by the following distinguished speakers from the IT Security Department at Emirates Airlines:

  • Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed - Senior Security Assurance Analyst 
  • Mr. Murtaza Merchant - Senior Security Analyst 
  • Mr. Sameer Shaikh - IT Security Policies Manager 

Speakers Bio:

Mr. Mushtaq works with the IT Security department of Emirates Group and is responsible for ensuring that key applications are tested for security strength before go-live. This includes assessment of ecommerce and critical business applications. He also works on various training programs to build the security knowledge of application developers and end users. He has over a decade of IT experience specialising in the field of Application Vulnerability Management. Prior to joining Emirates Group, Mushtaq has worked with Dell and GE. He holds a Master degree in Computer Applications and a Master degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta. He also holds industry certifications such as CSSLP, CEH, CCNA, and Certified Web Method Developer.

Mr. Murtaza works with the IT Security department of Emirates Group. He is responsible for ensuring that the right security controls are implemented in infrastructure technologies and application architectures before go-live. He has over 15 years of work experience with more than 11 years in IT Security. In his role, he specializes in 'collaborative security' - where security is built around the business requirements. He is also a member of the IT Security policies working group that defines the IT security governance for the Emirates Group. In his previous roles, he has been instrumental in investigations of security breaches within the organization - something he is called upon even today for complex investigations. He has achieved many industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM and ISA 27001 Lead Auditor.

Mr. Sameer leads the information security governance function under the IT Security department at Emirates Group. His unit is responsible for defining the information security governance framework for the organization based on industry standards and business requirements of the organization, and driving implementation of the same through people, process and technology. He has a work experience of 15 years, out of which 10 years have been in the IT security and governance domains. Before Emirates Group, he has worked with the Indian Government and Wipro Technologies, one of the top global IT companies. Sameer has a Bachelor degree in Engineering and has recently finished Masters in Business Administration. He has also achieved various industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and CGEIT.
