AUS hosts Sports Day 2014
Over 400 students participated in the AUS Student Athletics and Recreation Department's annual Sports Day on April 30. The day marked the final events for the men's and women's intramural competitions and interschool tournaments, and culminated in an awards ceremony.
The School of Business Administration placed first in men's and women's basketball and volleyball, second in cricket and third in soccer. The College of Engineering won first place in cricket and soccer, second place in both men's and women's basketball, and third place in women's volleyball. The College of Architecture, Art and Design were runners-up in men's and women's volleyball. The College of Arts and Sciences placed second in soccer and third in men's volleyball, cricket and men's and women's basketball.
Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, along with the Dr. Mohamed Helal, Director of Student Athletics and Recreation Department, and Dr. Munketh Taha, Director of Student Development and Organizations, awarded the winners of the intramural and interschool sports tournaments of Spring 2014.
Dr. Al Shehhi stressed the importance of extracurricular sports activities in the life of students to be successful in their careers and thanked them for their participation and contributions in such activities.
