AUS shines at CUCA Sports Festival
Nine teams from AUS competed at the first annual Inter-University Sports Festival hosted by the City University College of Ajman (CUCA) November 17-23. A total of 60 teams from 13 different colleges and universities participated in the week-long sports festival.
AUS teams secured first place in men's volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, and women's basketball, while the women's badminton, table tennis and volleyball teams came in second.
The tournament started with men's badminton, with the AUS team beating BITS Pilani for the first time in seven years to claim first place. The men's volleyball team also won first place by fighting its way to victory against their Sharjah rivals, University of Sharjah, in the final. The tournament ended with the men's and women's basketball teams crushing their opponents in the finals to claim first place.
The prize distribution and award ceremony was held on November 23 and CUCA President Imran Khan and Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Amerah distributed the medals and trophies to the winners during the closing ceremony.
