AUS students take first prize at annual IEEE Student Day
Two teams from the Department of Electric Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) won first place in their respective categories during the annual IEEE Student Day held at Ajman University of Science and Technology on May 10, 2014.
The project "Quad-Copter Airshow" won first prize in the Common Design Project Competition. AUS students Eiman Ayman Elghanam, Khalid Ismail Ibrahim, Khalid Saeed Hasson, Muhammad Tahsin Rahman and Shamshu Shahid Mohamed won the competition, which drew teams from 15 universities. They were advised by Dr. Aydin Yesildirek, Associate Professor and Director of the Mechatronics Program, and Wasil El Tahir, Lab Instructor.
Students Aya Belal Ali, Rana Omer Mahmoud and Nada Ali Obaid, also under the guidance of Dr. Yesildirek, won first prize in the Senior Design Project Competition Power and Control Track for their project, "i-Connect Break Barriers. Bond Thoughts."
