AUS students visit the elderly on Mothers’ Day

On the occasion of Mothers' Day, the Student Council at American University of Sharjah in collaboration with Community Services, organized a two-day event, March 20-21, to commemorate the special day in honor of mothers under the care of Old People's Home in Sharjah.

On the first day of the event, a bake sale was held at the university's Student Center to raise funds to buy gifts for the elderly. A visit followed the next day, with a group of students presenting gifts to the elderly and celebrating the special occasion with them.

Bassim Younis, a mechanical engineering student, said, "Engaging in making these mothers happy made me joyful as I see them smiling."

"As a mother myself, I feel honored by our students' thoughtfulness. Sharing and commemorating Mothers' Day with the elderly shows how our students care for the senior members of our community. I thank our students for dedicating their time and effort in making this occasion a special one," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.
