AUS teams secures first place at Middle East & Africa Third Regional Quality Conference
A team from the College of Engineering (CEN) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) placed first at the Middle East & Africa Third Regional Quality Conference held in Dubai recently. This was the second consecutive time the team from the CEN Department of Industrial Engineering has placed first in the Student Case Study Competition.
The final round of the competition consisted of 11 teams representing countries in Middle East and Africa. The AUS students were Aysha AlSarhan, Ahmed Aly and Nayef AlHogail, and were advised was Dr. Mahmoud Awad, Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering.
Despite the final round being very competitive, the AUS team won first place with its project entitled “Process Optimization at a National Cement Company.”
