Grade 12 students learn about goal setting and motivation in AABP workshop
The Achievement Academy Bridge Program (AABP) organized a virtual workshop on university life and navigating the transition from school to university for senior students at the American School of Creative Science (ASCS) on November 17.
Senior AABP instructors Claire Murphy and Diala Awwad focused on the skills required to adapt and succeed in a university context, emphasizing goal setting and finding motivation.
“Our recent Goal Setting and Motivation Workshop, attended by the Grade 12 students from ASCS, successfully channeled the energy and foresight of the participants. It enabled them to create realistic and achievable personal study goals focused on academic success at the tertiary level,” Murphy said.
The workshop was held as part of the Sharakah Program, which is a partnership between AUS and select high schools. It aims to support the university’s strategic initiative to create a platform for cooperation in various academic and non-academic areas. These include the engagement of teachers and students through training sessions, workshops, as well as cultural, social and sports activities. AABP’s workshop is part of a series of activities under this initiative, which includes university preparation courses, and SAT and TOEFL preparation courses.
