About the Cultural Events Committee

The Cultural Events Committee of American University of Sharjah has a history of hosting events of cultural interest for the university community and the public at large. AUS is a non-profit institution, and these events are either free of charge or heavily subsidized by the university. Past events have mainly focused on staged musical performances. The committee now aims to cover a broader, multicultural spectrum, including, but not limited to, music, theater, film, dance, lectures and multimedia presentations.

AUS is home to a community of more than 5,000 students, faculty and staff in a distinguished architectural setting. The university has a fine performance space seating an audience of 916, an excellent concert grand piano and lecture halls suitable for smaller events.
