Curriculum and Courses
Curriculum
The curriculum consists of a four-year, 140-credit-hour degree plan that meets the needs of the engineering community in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region. The curriculum has been designed with the aim of providing breadth and depth of knowledge and significant design experience across the key areas of chemical engineering. The program includes university requirements and core requirements for all chemical engineering students. In addition, technical and free elective courses must be completed. A summer internship experience is required, as is a senior project accomplished over two semesters.
Several required laboratory courses provide hands-on experience as well as support class work and senior projects. Assessment of laboratory educational outcomes is a part of the overall evaluation of learning for the CHE department.
All chemical engineering students are required to take a comprehensive assessment examination during this capstone course sequence. Students are required to participate in several laboratory courses including organic chemistry, physical chemistry, materials science, unit operations and computer-aided design.
Specific requirements are available in the online version of the university catalog.
