Biography

Taleb Hassan Ibrahim has been on the faculty of AUS Department of Chemical Engineering since August 2001. In 2004, he was appointed as acting chair of the department. In 1998, he joined the faculty of Tuskegee University, USA. From 1988 to 1993, was as senior research technician at Tuskegee University, where he was in charge of the chemistry part of the materials laboratory. He was involved with the synthesis and characterization of polycarbosilanes and polytitanocarbosilanes and in fabrication of ceramic composite materials using such polymers as matrices. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University, USA, in 1997. There he worked as research associate from 1997 to 1999 with Dr. Ronald Neuman. He was involved with research in the area of interfacial phenomena/surface and colloidal science and materials science. He believes that fundamental understanding of interfacial behavior of surfaces is essential for advancements in various industrial and environmental areas.
