It is anticipated that the INSTITUTE OF MATERIALS SYSTEMS will have a leading role in Materials related issues not only in UAE but also in the GULF region. The main objectives of the Institute can be summarized as follows:
1. Conduct scientific research focused on materials properties and applications taking into consideration the severe environment in the region.
2. The Institute will take an active role with Directorate of Public Works and Municipalities in the establishment of Local/Regional code of practice.
3. Provide an independent technical testing, evaluation and advice services on Materials related issues to private sectors and publiccommunity.
4. Enhance materials education for undergraduate and postgraduate levels through, seminars, conferences, new courses and graduate programs.
5. Act as a catalyst for materials innovation and application in the Gulf region and facilitate development of new materials and practices.
6. Establish partnership with governmental and public sectors.
7. Build collaboration with similar worldwide centers of excellence and raise the flag of AUS nationally and internationally. |
