What on-campus services does AUS offer?

AUSprovides its students with a variety of quality on-campus services including astate-of-the art sports complex, student cafeterias, a post office, a bank, a healthclinic, a gifts and memorabilia shop, a bookstore, and mini-marts, among others.We also provide free on-campus transportation between dorms and various universitybuildings.

How long does it take AUS to issue student visas?

The processing time depends on the number of applicants and the immigration response to visa issues and requests. The Public Relations Department sends a copy to the student by fax. The original copy is to be collected by the student upon arrival at the airport. International students are urged to send their Visa Request Forms at least five weeks before the beginning of the semester for which they seek admission.

Does AUS provide residency visas for its students?

AUS will assist accepted students in applying for a UAE residence visa, if needed, as per the UAE government rules and regulations. Approval of visa requests lies solely with the UAE Immigration Authorities. For more information, please email : [email protected] or contact +971 6 515 2079

Does AUS offer afternoon classes, part-time or correspondence programs?

All our degree programs require regular attendance; therefore no course can be completed by correspondence. However, candidates may apply for admission as part-time students. Part-time students are not allowed to register for more than 12 credit hours per semester. 

Is there any office or agency that officially represents AUS overseas?

AUS approaches the community directly. We are not represented by any office or agencyoutside the UAE. Our Office of Enrollment Management conducts several local,regional, and international introductory campaigns to introduce the university.We participate in major local, regional, and international education, culturaland social events, fairs, exhibitions, and festivals on a regular basis.

 

Where is AUS accredited?

LICENSING

AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. 

US ACCREDITATION

AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA, Tel +1 215 662 5606) since June 2004.

The bachelor of science degree programs in chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering offered by the College of Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET https://www.abet.org/. The bachelor of science degree program in computer science offered by the College of Engineering is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET https://www.abet.org/. AUS was the first university in the Gulf region and the second outside the United States to receive this accreditation.

The Bachelor of Architecture program of the College of Architecture, Art and Design is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) of the United States. This is the first program outside of North America to receive this prestigious accreditation. NAAB is the only organization authorized to accredit professional degree programs in architecture in the United States.

The School of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
