Sponsorship Agreement

1.0 Definition and Processing Guidelines

A Sponsorship agreement is an agreement between AUS (represented by an academic unit) and another entity to sponsor student projects (e.g. capstone or senior design projects).   The sponsorship amount can only be used for purchasing items such as materials and software related to the project. It cannot be used for compensation or per diem for either faculty members or students. Faculty members supervise these projects as part of their contractual duties to AUS and their professional development. Students are carrying out the work related to this project as part of their education and their work will be evaluated and counted toward fulfilling their graduation requirements.

A complete request for sponsorship agreement should include the following:

  • Sponsorship agreement form (same format as consultation contract)
  • Sponsorship agreement routing form.
  • List of students involved in the project.
  • Statement of Expenses and obligations of AUS to the sponsorship agreement.
  • An indemnity statement signed by each faculty member and student involved in the agreement
