Multimedia Design
The multimedia design major provides an intensive background in design and offers specialized classes in digital media, motion graphics, animation and film. In addition, there is a wide range of elective classes to choose from. Multimedia graduates from AUS are working in the broadcast, web and interactive design, filmmaking, animation, and as in-house production professionals in industries around the region.
Graduates from the multimedia design program should be equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to contribute to:
- work in a design company as a creative designer
(logo, corporate identity, information graphics, interactive graphics, web design)
- work in an advertising company as a visualizer/multimedia designer in the creative department
(advertisements, corporate identity, promotions, time-based graphic presentations)
- work in an in-house design department of a company (e.g., government/public sector) as a multimedia graphic designer/art director/design coordinator/ web designer/publicity and promotion design
(company communications, information graphics, corporate identity)
- work as freelance designers for individuals/organizations requiring specialist design solutions/image and concept generation
- work in broadcast related industries as program developers/pre-production consultants/visualizers/production crew/assistant directors/post production editors
Graduates should also have a working knowledge of the following and may have concentrated in one of the following specialist areas:
- filmmaking
- interactive graphics
- Web design
- animation
- image making
- photography
- illustration
Graduates have a portfolio of their works that will demonstrate the particular skills, preferences and knowledge related to visual communications as a practice.
