INSA Student Association

INSA is the International Studies Students Association. All students associated with IS—both majors and minors—are welcome in INSA. We want IS students to be active learners, not only in the classroom but also outside of it.

INSA is regulated by a constitution, led by a student governing board and has a faculty advisor. One INSA member represents students at departmental meetings and relays information from the department. The student governing board is elected by students annually. The department takes recommendations from INSA seriously and expects INSA members to participate in our shared institutional mission. In other words, we help each other achieve a great education at AUS, superior research and service to the region and the world. We are inspired people in IS, and we want students to feel both empowered and active, poised to meet the world as true citizens and creative, problem-solving minds.

INSA sponsors and organizes a genuine wealth of events. Yearly, INSA sponsors trips to prestigious conferences in the region and allows students to meet with some of the world's premiere political and intellectual leaders as they pass through our region. INSA also has a strong service component. Our students organize fundraisers and charity for good causes, such as UNICEF's children's fund. Finally, INSA has fun social gatherings, such as safaris, the beautiful IS gala dinner and the INSA Ramadan iftar. You don't want to miss the chance to be part of INSA if you are studying in IS.

To put your name on the INSA mailing list, or for more information, contact Dr. Bendik-Keymer (jkeymer@aus.edu), the INSA faculty advisor.
