Visa Information for the ICCST7 Conference

VISA:

If you are not a citizen or permanent resident of the UAE you should consult the embassy of the UAE in your country to inquire whether you need to have a visa or not. The citizens of the following countries do not need a prior visa to enter the UAE and can obtain a visa upon entry: Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Cyprus, Finland, Malta, Spain, Monaco, Vatican City, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zeeland, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman.

Citizens of other countries will most likely require a visa to enter the UAE. If you are flying to the UAE using Emirates Airlines, the airline company can get you the necessary visa. Though getting a visa is the participant’s responsibility, we will be glad to provide you with documents such as an invitation letter or any other assistance you may need in this regard. Citizens of Iran coming to the UAE on “Entry Service Permit” visa (see below) must arrive through Sharjah airport.

For the latest news on this you are advised to consult the webpage of the UAE government http://www.government.ae/gov/en/visitors/uae/visas.jsp

REMARK:

An “Entry Service Permit” visa may be arranged by the American University of Sharjah as per author’s request. The visa is valid for 14 days from day of entry and is issued only two weeks before the conference. The following information and documents must be sent to the conference secretary at iccst7@aus.edu as soon as possible (no later than November 20th):

  • Name of author requesting the visa (same as in passport)
  • The Paper title and ID
  • A softcopy of author passport
  • A recent colored passport-type photo with white background (scanned)
  • Fees of $95 (or AED 350) that can be paid with the registration fees

The organizing committee will try to issue the visa for all authors who request it but cannot guarantee the visa since the final decision is taken by the UAE immigration authorities
