Program Director’s Message

Welcome to our Graduate Program in Mechatronics Engineering at AUS.
Our goal is to provide an interdisciplinary program for training graduate students and working engineers. We emphasize approaches that integrate the science and engineering concepts needed to address grand challenges in the rapidly changing industrial sector.
Mechatronics has evolved over the last few years as a distinct engineering discipline. It represents the integration of various academic fields related to electronics, mechanical sensors and actuators, control systems and digital signal processing, to create products that span a wide range from factory automation to toys.
AUS offers exciting opportunities for excellent students from a wide spectrum of backgrounds to engage in cutting edge research with diverse faculty and world-class facilities and resources. The Mechatronics program is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It offers an innovative curriculum that integrates several theme areas and a wide variety of research strengths such as:
- Robotics and autonomous systems
- Remote monitoring and control
- Industrial automation and embedded systems
- Signal processing and system identification
- Intelligent manufacturing technologies
- Sensor design and sensor fusion
The program is challenging yet flexible. It is designed to accommodate individual needs, backgrounds, and interests. The program offers a research based thesis Master and a project based Master for Professionals. Students have the flexibility to tailor a program of study to meet their specific professional goals.
The program provides the training you will need for success on a variety of career paths, in a collegial, supportive environment. Many of our recent graduates have moved on to rewarding positions and successful careers in academia and in industry.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any additional information.
I look forward to welcoming you at AUS.
