Provost's Message
Office of the Provost
The Office of the Provost is accountable within American University of Sharjah for ensuring that the highest possible standards are maintained within the instructional and scholarly programs of the university.
As the chief academic officer of AUS, the Provost, Dr. Thomas J. Hochstettler, bears responsibility for the effective administration of the central academic services of the university, including the library, academic computing, the registrar, the Academic Support Center, the Office of International Exchange Programs and other academic support units. The four deans of the university also report to the Provost and are charged with maintaining and advancing the quality of the academic program through the faculty of our four colleges and schools. Additionally, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Instruction and the Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Programs report to the Provost and exercise institution-wide responsibilities within their respective areas of administration.
The byword for everything we do at AUS is quality, and everyone within the academic administration of the university is dedicated to sustaining the highest standards of teaching, research and service for our students and for all our stakeholders.
