Combining engineering skills with mathematics and advanced chemistry, chemical engineers design and operate industrial processes in a wide variety of exciting fields.
The  Department of Chemical Engineering (CHE) offers undergraduate and graduate programs that provide students with a solid foundation in theory and classical methods, as well as in modern solution techniques. Our undergraduate program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org/, in the United States and by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which means that it meets or exceeds quality standards set by the profession. At the graduate level, we offer a program leading to a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, which includes advanced topics in chemical engineering and a strong foundation in research, both fundamental and applied.
Our highly-qualified faculty members continue to monitor trends in the field of chemical engineering and to evaluate our curriculum. Our programs cater successfully to the demands of the industry in the region and beyond. The faculty members and laboratory instructors represent a wide variety of experiences in both industry and education and are committed to providing the optimal educational experience.
We are proud of the fact that approximately half of the 300 students currently enrolled in our programs are women. Our alumni are employed in various sectors of the chemical engineering industry, including petroleum, metals, environmental areas and water resources, among others. Many of our graduates have gone on to pursue advanced degrees at some of the most competitive universities in the US, Canada, the UK and the Middle East.
So if you are looking for a stimulating and rigorous field of study that will prepare you for a dynamic career, then chemical engineering might just be the degree for you!
