Adjunct physics lab instructors

The Department of Physics at the American University of Sharjah seeks Physicists with M.Sc. degree to work as  adjunct Laboratory Instructors during the upcoming Fall semester (September 7, 2014 to January 5, 2015.). All Physics areas will be considered and preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching physics labs or courses at the undergraduate level.

Biology Lab Instructor (BLI) - Adjunct

The Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences seeks a BLI who will teach the laboratory component of different Biology courses being offered by the department and carry out other related activities. The BLI will instruct the laboratory component of General Biology I and II and one or more of the following: genetics, physiology, microbiology, and ecology. In addition, the BLI will be expected to operate standard and advanced biology equipment.

The successful candidate will have an MS degree in Biology or Biology-related field, good communication skills in English, and prior experience in a similar position.

Faculty position in History

The Department of International Studies at American University of Sharjah seeks a full-time faculty member specialized in the modern history of the Middle East/North Africa. Candidates must be able to teach a range of courses on the history of the modern Middle East/North Africa as well as survey courses in world history.

Successful candidates will have a PhD in Middle Eastern/North African history, a record of excellent teaching, an active research agenda, and a wish to contribute actively to the interdisciplinary atmosphere in the Department of International Studies.

As a university formed on the American model, American University of Sharjah will give priority to candidates who have substantial experience in American models of higher education. Mastery of English is a requirement.

Adjunct Faculty Position in the Department of English

The Department of English at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) seeks applicants for a one or two-semester position as an adjunct faculty member teaching Academic Research Writing, Writing for Engineers, or Business Writing during the 2014-2015 academic year.

Candidates having completed a Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or TESOL/ESP (with experience teaching writing), and currently working in the UAE are encouraged to apply.
