ESM program is a big hit with UAE graduate students

The first program of its kind in the entire region, the Engineering Systems Management (ESM) Graduate Program at AUS has become one of the most popular graduate programs among UAE nationals.

Currently out of the 96 students pursuing graduate work in ESM at the university, 58 are Emaratis, 20 of whom are women. These students come from both the public as well as the private sector.

Many belong to the UAE armed forces, while others come from organizations such as ADNOC, ADGAS, SEWA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Sharjah Municipality among others. There is great interest in this fast emerging and highly relevant field, and many of the ESM graduates wish to pursue further studies after completing their master's degrees at AUS.

Mr. Rashid Al Mulla, who was the first graduate of the program in 2004, has been admitted to a PhD program in the same field at a university in the UK. “We were the pioneer program in ESM in the entire area and have worked really hard to achieve our success. We have set very high standards and always striven for excellence.

We our fortunate to have students who are very motivated and committed,” said Dr. Ibrahim Al Kattan, Director of the ESM program at the School of Engineering. “It is truly heartening to see so many Emarati men and women in our program; these dynamic individuals will go on to play an important role in the future development of this country and we are proud to play our part in this progress,” he added.
