JSA selected by prestigious worldwide disseminator of scholarly production The Journal of Social Affairs, the peer-reviewed quarterly publication of American University of Sharjah, has been selected as the one scholarly item to be disseminated from the region in the field of sociology and other interdisciplinary studies by the prestigious EBSCO Publishing Network. EBSCO delivers full-text and bibliographic research databases to school, public, academic, medical and corporate libraries in several languages. Chancellor Winfred Thompson and Mr. Bilal Mohammed Bilal, co-chairs of the JSA board, expressed their satisfaction with the nomination of the Journal of Social Affairs, which will receive significant domestic and international exposure. The journal will also receive a royalty from EBSCO for its contents. EBSCO Subscription Services works with libraries around the world to maintain their print subscriptions. EBSCO Publishing offers aggregated databases to libraries as a complement to print. It provides all abstracts, indexing, bibliographic data, live links to publishers, linked cited references and a consistent interface with the end user (usually students and researchers). The English language section of the Journal of Social Affairs was initiated and is edited by Dr. Nada Mourtada- Sabbah, Associate Professor of Political Science and International Studies. Since its launching three years ago, the English section has featured contributions by a host of internationally renowned scholars from some of the world's leading universities. The forthcoming issues of the journal will include articles by Frauke Heard Bey, Center for Documentation and Research, Presidential Court, Abu Dhabi; Roger Allen, University of Pennsylvania; Muhammed Ayish, University of Sharjah; Malcolm Peck, Meridian International Center, Washington, DC; Mohammed Al Roken, UAE University; Anoush Ehteshami, Durham University; Tarik Yusuf Georgetown University; Gregory Gause III, Vermont University; Fatima Al Sayegh, UAE University; Mohammed Qirat, University of Sharjah; and Rose Marie Zahlan.
