Senior design students hold final work exhibition at Dubai Knowledge Village The exhibition “Exposed—Senior Design Exhibition, featuring a selection of the final work of senior students from the School of Architecture and Design (SA&D), was held May 8–9 at the Conference Center of Knowledge Village, Dubai. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Mohammed Al Murr, Chairman of Dubai Cultural Council. The opening was attended by more than 100 faculty, students and prominent guests, including Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Sayyah, Chief Advisor, Standard Chartered, as well as senior officials of AUS. Dr. Fatih Rifki, Dean of the School of Architecture and Design, welcomed the guests to the event and congratulated the senior students on theirachievements. Dr. Rifki was followed by Mr. Amir Berbic, Assistant Professor of Design, who introduced Mr. Victor Margolin, an eminent guest speaker from the United States, who delivered an engaging lecture entitled “The Urban Artifacts: An International Survey of Images,” and their relationship in today's visual societies. Mr. Margolis is the author of a number of books onhistory of graphic design and is the co-founder and co-editor of Design Issues: A Journal of History, Theory, and Criticism, a design journal that focuses on scholarly interest in the visual communication process.
